I have always been surprise
how when we cover this subject of how corrupt individuals become from the
Northern Kingdom (Israel) and the Southern Kingdom (Judah) history. Yet, we find that Jesus (the God of the Old
testament) seems to forgive and to help them both even though they are not
following His instructions to the people through the prophets. The second chapter of Judges is just another
example how Jesus saves the people and then the leaders again lead them into
following other gods. The study of
Jeremiah is a very good example of this for the Southern Kingdom of Judah. I can look around and see this now happing in
our Nation today.

2:19 NKJV And it came to pass, when the
judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their
fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did
not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.
