Nation’s only hope against utter destruction, Joel 2:12-14?

This verse applies to the Nation of Israel and the United States where God is telling that the nation’s only hope against utter destruction is God Himself.  God (Jesus) is pleading with His people (not the leaders and / or people in general,) but those who are called by His name (are Jesus Ambassadors to this earth) to will humble themselves (fasting)  and pray (seriously) and seek my face (follow Jesus commands, teachings and examples of Jesus lifestyle) and turn from their wicked ways (our ways and repent and turn around, from following the way of death that Satan taught to the Way of Life that Jesus taught) then will I hear from heaven (Jesus will hear our plead from the right hand of the Father throne in our prayers) and will forgive their sin (our sin that we commit towards God) and will heal their land.

Our nation has a choice, but it is Jesus people, the Bride of Christ, that will make the difference.  The outcome is on our backs.

(Joel 2:12-14 KJV)  Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: {13} And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. {14} Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?

List the attributes of the LORD given in Joel 2:13.

When I look at the attributes of the Lord given in Joel 2:13, the following comes to mind.

Gracious: 2587. channuwn, khan-noon'; from H2603; gracious:--gracious.

(Psa 103:8 KJV)  The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy,” which means “not treating us as we deserve.”
Compassionate: 7349. rachuwm, rakh-oom'; from H7355; compassionate:--full of compassion, merciful.  (Psa 86:15 KJV)  “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth,” which means “merciful.”

Slow to anger: 639. 'aph, af; from H599; prop. the nose or nostril; hence the face, and occasionally a person; also (from the rapid breathing in passion) ire:--anger (-gry), + before, countenance, face, + forbearing, forehead, + [long-] suffering, nose, nostril, snout, X worthy, wrath.

(Nahum 1:3 KJV)  “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet,” which means “long-suffering.’
Abounding in love: (Num 14:18 NIV)  “The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion,” which means “great mercy.”

He relents from sending calamity: (2 Chr 7:14 KJV)  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land,” which means God will forgive.
These attributes of the Lord are listed many times together in the same verse and are very important to understanding the Greatness of our Lord and King, Jesus our Messiah.

Stephen

(Joel 2:13 NIV)  Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

(Joel 2:13 KJV)  And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

How do I see God at work in the events of the world today.

When I look at the events that are in work in the United States today, I see Satan is behind the downfall and tearing out our moral soul by the roots.  Because of breaking God’s law, then these curses will come upon us and the rest of the world.  As America goes, so does the world and especially Jerusalem.

What are some of these cures from Deut 28?

·      Cursed in the city and cursed in the country

·      Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed

·      fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks

·      You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out

·      LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him

·      LORD will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land

·      LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish

·      The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron

·      The LORD will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder

·      The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies

·      Your carcasses will be food for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away

·      The LORD will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, festering sores and the itch, from which you cannot be cured

·      The LORD will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind.

These are just a few of the things that is coming upon the United States and rest of the world.  Yes, Satan and his false prophets are doing this through very evil individuals.

(Deu 28:15 NIV)  However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
