The Eighth Day 2021 – Shemini Atzeret Pt 1: seachord.org

The Eighth Day 2021 – Shemini Atzeret  Pt 1        September 18, 2021

The Eighth Day: A New Beginning

·      Following the Feast of Tabernacles is a final High Day. It's designated as an Eighth Day, different from the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles but included as part of the Feast of Tabernacles.

·      It is known as the Last Day of the Feast, or as I was taught, called Last Great Day.

·      Meaning, the 8th Day is a Holy Day in its own right and the end of FOT, but separate High Day.

·      Jews did not have to stay in a temporary shelter on this day, can resume enjoying the comfort of solid, built homes.

·      The 8th Day also represents the new heaven, new earth and future, Eternity.

·      A new start for Spiritual children of God, just as example of Noah’s flood was a new start for physical people

·      There are no outward rituals or symbols connected to this feast

The instructions and meaning for this day are interesting; it is to be a High Sabbath, much the same as the weekly Sabbath.

It is celebrated on the 22nd day of the Hebrew month of Tishrei

Leviticus 23:36 For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.

Leviticus 23:39 'Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the LORD for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest.

Numbers 29:35 'On the eighth day you shall have a sacred assembly. You shall do no customary work.

The 8th day is called Shemini Atzeret (Eighth Day of Assembly).

The Hebrew word: Shemini, means; eighth. It falls on the eighth day. It is therefore often assumed that Shemini Atzeret is simply the eighth day of Sukkot.

The Hebrew word: Atzeret, probably means; the closing festival, assembly but also with meaning "stop" or "tarry".  A time for God’s people to tarried, to spend an additional day with God at the end of Sukkot,  The main problem is that no one really knows exactly what atzeret means.

There are 70 temple sacrifices given throughout Sukkot, compared to only 1 given on Shemini Atzeret. 70 for the 70 nations of mankind having their sins atoned for, and the 1 represents the unique Nation of Israel.

On this day, 8th Day, is when the annual Torah-reading cycle is concluded and begun anew, so the Torah is read through once a year.

It represents a NEW BEGINNING.  This "new beginning" requires "rain" -- a type of the Spirit of God poured out in order to produce a new crop and a new harvest!

Although this day marks the beginning of the rainy season in Israel and with the special prayer for rain, thus begins the period of an additional call for rain in their prayers, which lasts until Passover.   Crops.

This is the very water that Isaiah the prophet foretold, when he declared,

Isaiah 55:10-11 "For just as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, yielding seed for the sower and bread for eating,  (11)  so will my message be that goes out of my mouth—it won't return to me empty. Instead, it will accomplish what I desire, and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

The 8th Day represents the beginning of a new RAINY SEASON, during which the earth is nourished by rain from the heavens.  Spiritually, then, it represents the pouring out anew of God's Holy Spirit and the looking forward to a NEW HARVEST for the Kingdom of God!

Isaiah 44:3 For I'll pour water upon thirsty ground and streams on parched land. So will I pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing upon your descendants.

We have access to the living waters of salvation which flow like the quality of God’s loving kindness.

Joel 2:28 "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

Lord Jesus declared

John 7:37-39 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.  (38)  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."  (39)  But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

The Jewish Encyclopedia states that during the time of the Second Temple, the festival of Shavuot {Feast of Tabernacles} received the specific name of "'Atzarta" as cited by Josephus in Antiquities of the Jews (iii. 10, § 6)

Atzeret: A day for assembly—or pause

Spiritually, Shemini Atzeret can also be seen to "guard the seven days of Sukkot" and is characterized as a day when the Jewish people "tarries" to spend an additional day with God at the end of Sukkot.

Therefore, Shemini Atzeret is considered "a feast day and the end of the Feast of Tabernacles and during this time is the last readings of the Scriptures for the past year in the Temple.

Shortly after midnight, prayers are made in the synagogue for more than ten hours. No work {your lively hood} is permitted on this day. At the end of the holiday, the succahs {or tents} are dismantled. Their poles and nets will be stored until the next Feast of Tabernacles.

The fruits will be squeezed into sweetened juice and some will be eaten by the children. This is a day of open celebration and joyous festival with prayers, festive meals, and hours of dancing holding the Scriptures at the center of attention during this time. Prayers are for good rains for their crops this coming year.

God's Master Plan will be completed celebrating this Feast Day, the 8th Day

8th Days pictures the judgment when the vast majority of humanity will be resurrected to mortal life and given their opportunity for salvation.

Untold millions have died without ever having had an opportunity for salvation. God's seventh and final Holy Day reveals when and

how they will have their day of salvation.

What about all those who have lived and died without ever being called of God (including, perhaps, most of our loved ones today); who never had an opportunity to know and really understand God's purpose and plan for mankind? Are they lost forever?  No.

Can we really imagine a merciful and just God condemning innocent little children; some who died before they could either walk or talk; to remain dead for all eternity without the knowledge of God's way of life and without being given the opportunity to live forever?

God has planned for everyone who has ever lived to receive an opportunity for salvation and Sonship in His Family, just as the already spiritually called and begotten children of God have been given their opportunity.

Simply the dead; those billions who are not Christ's and have never been called of God, most of whom have never even heard the name of Jesus Christ.  God wants all to be saved.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some people understand slowness, but is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to perish, but wants everyone to repent.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, (4) who wants all people to be saved and to come to know the truth fully.

Will everyone be saved at the same time, or is there a definite time-order

1 Corinthians 15:22-24 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. (23) But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. (24) Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

Then in the future, the dead will be given their opportunity to become members of God's Family.

The individuals will be given enough time to learn to obey God, just as Spirit-begotten Christians have opportunity to do today. Those who continue to live God's way of life, developing the character of God, will be changed to Spiritual Beings at the end of this period of judgment, which apparently will last 100 years. (Isa. 65:20).

God has, in His fairness, planned for everyone who has ever lived to receive the very same opportunity for salvation that we are being given!

Just as the week is not complete without the Sabbath Day, so God's Master Plan is not complete without God's seventh annual Holy Day

Revelation 20:5 The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years were over. This is the first resurrection.

John just told us

These are not the dead in Christ, but simply; the dead; those millions who are not Christ; who have not been converted, who may never have heard the gospel or the name of Jesus.

What happens to the dead.  These are Gentiles and Israelites.

The prophet Ezekiel describe a resurrection of dead Israelites back to mortal life.

Ezekiel 37:12-13 ""Therefore prophesy to them, and tell them, 'Watch me! I'm going to open your graves, lift you out of those graves, and bring my people back into the land of Israel. (13) Then you'll learn that I am the LORD, when I've opened your graves and caused you to come up out of them, my people.

This is a resurrect to physical life; with bodies of flesh, skin and bones and require air to live.

Ezekiel 37:8-9 As I continued to watch, I saw tendons growing on the bones, and muscles growing and covering them, and then skin covered the flesh from above. But the bodies weren't breathing. (9) Then he ordered me, "Prophesy to the Spirit, Son of Man. Tell the Spirit, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: "Come from the four winds, you Spirit, and breathe into these people who have been killed, so they will live."'"

God will then give His Holy Spirit to the millions of peoples.

Ezekiel 37:14 I'm going to place my Spirit in you all, and you will live. I'll place you all into your land, and you'll learn that I, the LORD, have been speaking and doing this,' declares the LORD."

Even Gentiles will also be resurrected to physical life and return to how they were before.

Ezekiel 16:55  And your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to what they were before; and you and your daughters will return to what you were before.

John makes clear, "the rest of the dead"; those who never had a chance to understand God's truth-would not come up in a resurrection "until the thousand years were finished." This resurrection, which occurs after the 1,000 years are finished, is the second resurrection.

God will remove Satan and demons; completely powerless; unable to deceive the dead, who will then be resurrected to have their opportunity to understand God's Master Plan.

Revelation 20:1-3 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key to the bottomless pit, with a large chain in his hand. (2) He captured the dragon, that ancient serpent, also known as the devil and Satan, and tied him up for a thousand years. (3) He threw him into the bottomless pit, locked it, and sealed it over him to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were over. After that he must be set free for a little while.

So what about this 8th day, or the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles.  It is known at the great Day of Judgment.  It is a day of judgment for angels and men.

Day of judgment

Jude 1:6 He has also held in eternal chains those angels who did not keep their own position but abandoned their assigned place. They are held in deepest darkness for judgment on the great day.

2 Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but threw them into the lowest hell and imprisoned them in chains of deepest darkness, holding them for judgment;

Judgment Before the Great White Throne

Revelation 20:11-12 Then I saw a large, white throne and the one who was sitting on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. (12) I saw the dead, both unimportant and important, standing in front of the throne, and books were open. Another book was opened; the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to their actions, as recorded in the books.

The dead who stand before God will not include true Christians today, because they will appear before Christ and receive their rewards at the Bema Seat at first resurrection, when Christ returns.

The dead; time of salvation; will then occur!

Those resurrected after the Millennium will be judged the same way.

1 Corinthians 11:32 Now, while we are being judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so we won't be condemned along with the world.

Those who continue to live God's way of life will be changed to Spiritual Being at the end of this period of judgment.

They, like Spirit-begotten Christians today, will be given enough time to prove they are willing to live God's way through a life of overcoming and obedience to God.

The judgment of the Great Day, - The final judgment, when both angels and men shall receive their judgment at this time.

How long is this day of judgment.  Do you think the time it is only when all mankind is brought back to physical life, then straight to judgment to life or death without any time to overcome.

Think of the hundreds of millions of people that has not been given a chance for salvation and not given the Holy Spirit to lead and direct them in life.

The Scriptures shows that the vast majority of those who ever lived will finally be born into God's Family at the end of this coming period of judgment, pictured by the Last Great Day, 8th Day.

Here the rest of "saved" mankind is described -- those who will enter the Kingdom of God, during the Millennial reign of Messiah, and, those who are resurrected to moral life to be given their chance for salvation after the Millennium, during the "Great White Throne" judgment period -- the "Great Day of Salvation" represented by Hoshana Rabbah, the seventh and final day of the Feast of Tabernacles.

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and the sea was gone.

God's Master Plan of salvation for mankind will then be complete.

Then the Spirit Members of God's Family can look forward to new heavens and a new earth; and to new and wonderful opportunities in ruling the universe under God our Father and Jesus Christ our elder brother!

We will look at something from a different perspective about this day, in Part 2, this is where we will pick up, next time.

Day of Atonement 2021: September 16, 2021

 Day of Atonement 2021                                    September 16, 2021

We are here to celebrate the Day of Atonement, which comes 10 days after the Feast of Trumpets, on the 10th of Tishri and 5 days before the Feast of Tabernacles.

·      Satan is the god of this world right now and has directed the nations for the last 6000 years.

·      Satan has influenced leaders and inspired World Wars and cause misery, death and suffering from the time of Adam and Eve.

·      Jesus tells us Satan days are number.

·      Satan is the prince of the power of the air and will be replaced by our Lord Jesus and our King,

·      Jesus at His coming at the start of the Millennium.

·      Yes, Satan’s days are numbered and the Day of Atonement looks forward to this event.

·      When Satan is removed, he cannot longer broadcast his moods and evil, rebellious attitudes.  This is the difference between people today and people after Lord Jesus returns

·      This day then pictures Lord Jesus replacing Satan as world ruler and removing him to a place completely away and apart from mankind.

·      Satan will be bound and locked up, no longer able to deceive the nations for 1000 years.

Ephesians 2:2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

·   Jesus the Messiah has already overcome the Devil and qualified to replace him when He returns to the earth.

·      Jesus Christ is coming as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to take over the governments of this world and remove and restrain Satan.

The Day of Atonement reveals what will happen to Satan and his demons, because this part of the message is unique to the 5th High Day of Jesus plan.

Revelation 20:1-2 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key to the bottomless pit, with a large chain in his hand.  (2)  He captured the dragon, that ancient serpent, also known as the devil and Satan, and tied him up for a thousand years.  {the millennium}

Revelation 20:3 He threw him into the bottomless pit, locked it, and sealed it over him to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were over. After that he must be set free for a little while.

Revelation 18:2 He cried out in a powerful voice, "Fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen! She has become a home for demons. She is a prison for every unclean spirit, a prison for every unclean bird, and a prison for every unclean and hated beast.

·      What does that mean for us, followers of our Lord Jesus.

·      When Satan and his demons are removed from office, they must be replaced by qualified rulers.

·      We know Satan will be replaced by Jesus and we, His Saints, will replace the demons rule the world.

The Apostle Paul predict the end of world rule by fallen angels

Hebrews 2:5 For he did not put the coming world we are talking about under the control of angels.   {not under control of angels, but Saints}

Again, the Apostle Paul explains who will replace the demons as rulers over the world?

Romans 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be with all of you!

1 Corinthians 6:2-3 You know that the saints will rule the world, don't you? And if the world is going to be ruled by you, can't you handle insignificant cases?  (3)  You know that we will rule angels, not to mention things in this life, don't you?

·      Only by the power of the Holy Spirit will we be able to rule under Jesus, this is the message of the Day of Atonement.

·      We need to become at one with God.  At-One-Ment with God.

How are we to do this, by fasting, humbling ourselves, to draw closer to God and to see ourselves as we are and to see God as He is, our salvation.

Day of Atonement Chapter, Leviticus 16

Leviticus 16:33-34 then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tabernacle of meeting and for the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.  (34)  This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year." And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.

What does this remind us of.

Passover Service; for the Saints, Bride of Lord Jesus:

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 Now I'm making known to you, brothers, the gospel that I proclaimed to you, which you accepted, on which you have taken your stand,  (2)  and by which you are also being saved if you hold firmly to the message I proclaimed to you, unless, of course, your faith was worthless.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I passed on to you the most important points that I received:

The Messiah died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

(4) he was buried,

he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures:

and is still alive!

Isaiah 53:5 But he {Jesus} was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed

1 Corinthians 11:28 A person must examine himself and then eat the bread and drink from the cup, {how are we living, following the Way of Life}

Romans 3:25-26 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood, to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished (26) he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Remember, when we saw Satan was block to go after the Nation of Israel, then it went after the Saints at the big battle.

Revelation 12:17 Then the dragon {Satan} was enraged at the woman {Israel} and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring: those {the Body, Saints} who keep God's commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

Think on this, is just one little proof we should observe the Feast Days.

Leviticus 23:27 "Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.

Afflict just means to fast on this day.

Matthew 6:16 "Whenever you fast, don't be gloomy like the hypocrites, because they put on sad faces to show others they are fasting. I tell you with certainty, they have their full reward!

Matthew 6:17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,  (18)  so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Leviticus 23:32 It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath."

On the Day of Atonement, the people were instructed to "afflict their souls." In other words, they were to examine themselves and repent of wrong and sinful attitudes and behavior.

New Testament church celebrated the Day of Atonement

Acts 27:9 Much time had been lost, and sailing had already become dangerous because by now it was after the Day of Atonement. So Paul warned them,

John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Psalms 49:7-8 No man can redeem the life of another, nor can he give to God a sufficient payment for him (8) for it would cost too much to redeem his life, and the payments would go on forever

Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole."

Hebrews 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

Hebrews 10:3-6 Instead, through those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year, (4)  for it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.  (5)  For this reason, the Scriptures say, when the Messiah was about to come into the world: "You did not want sacrifices and offerings, but you prepared a body for me.  (6)  In burnt offerings and sin offerings you never took delight.  {sacrifices on the altar}

The Year of Jubilee happens on the Day of Atonement, How did it start.

The land was to be divided by lot among the families of the Israelites when the possession of it was obtained. Num_33:54, etc.

At the end of every seventh sabbatical cycle of years, in the year of Jubilee, each field or estate that might have been alienated was to be restored to the family to which it had been originally allotted.

If an Israelite fell on hard times, he might be forced, in effect, to lease his land, probably his creditor, but only until the Jubilee year, when all debts were to be forgiven.

This allows every Israelite family to begin again about once a generation, regardless of what had happened in the past.

Leviticus 25:8 Count for yourselves seven years of Sabbaths, seven times seven years. This set of seven weeks of years total forty nine years for you.

Leviticus 25:9 Sound a horn on the tenth day of the seventh month of this fiftieth year. Likewise on the Day of Atonement sound the horn throughout your land.

Leviticus 25:10 Set aside and consecrate the fiftieth year to declare liberty throughout the land for all of its inhabitants. It is to be a jubilee for you. Every person is to return to his own land that he has inherited. "Likewise, every person is to return to his clan.

Leviticus 25:11 The fiftieth year is to be a year of jubilee for you. You are not to sow or harvest the spilled kernels that grow of itself or pick grapes from the untrimmed vines

Leviticus 25:12 because it's jubilee. It's sacred for you. But you may eat its produce from the field.

Leviticus 25:13 During this year of jubilee, each person is to return to his own land that he has inherited.

Isaiah 61:1-2 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;  (2)  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,

The year of jubilee on which, liberty was proclaimed to the captives, US?

2 Corinthians 6:2 For He says: "in an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the Day of Salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Luke 4:17-18 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:  (18)  "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;

Luke 4:19-21 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."  (20)  Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.  (21)  And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

Now, let's compare Leviticus and Revelations and see a Divine appointment happening and it is the Yom Kippur service!  This event will happen some year on Atonement.

Leviticus 16:12-13 Then he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before the LORD, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil.  (13)  And he shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die.

Censer, sweet incense

Psalms 141:2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Revelation 6:9-10 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.  (10)  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"

Revelation 8:3-5 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.  (4)  And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel's hand.  (5)  Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.

Remember on this day, we celebrate the Day of Atonement, representing the removal of Satan and his demons and restoring all things, we the Saints will become at one with God and become rulers of the world under our Lord King during the millennium and in 5 days,

We will be rejoicing during the Feast of Tabernacles, which represents the Kingdom of God during the Millennium and then the Last Great Day, the 8th Day, which represents the great resurrection of all who lived in the past and will live in the future.

Feast of Trumpets 2021 – Yom Teruah: September 7, 2021

Feast of Trumpets 2021 – Yom Teruah               September 7, 2021

Trumpets:  A Day of blowing of trumpets

The Lord’s festival cycle runs with the agricultural year in the land and as we approach the end of the growing season, with the wet season starts after the Feast of Tabernacles.

The end of the season will happen with the sounding of the shofar (trumpet) blast on Rosh HaShana (the civil New Year) or Yom Terurah (Feast of Trumpets) which occurs on the same day.

On this day the high priest was to blow a trumpet. Not just an ordinary trumpet, but a special one made out of a large ram's horn. It was called a shofar. You could not play a tune on it; all it could do was giving out one piercing blast.

Shofar: hollowed-out curved ram’s horn trumpet, signified a warning, an alarm of war    These are the fall Feast Days are important events in our lives.

Leviticus 23:1-2 The LORD said to Moses,  (2)  "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.

Feast of Trumpets {Yom Teruah}: REPENTANCE

Day of Yom Kippur {Atonement}: REDEMPTION

Feast of Tabernacles: REJOICING

Leviticus 23:24 Tell the Israelis that on the first day of the seventh month you are to have a Sabbath of rest for you, a memorial announced by a loud blast of trumpets. It is to be a sacred assembly

There are many different meanings for the Feast of Trumpets:

Each one of these can be a complete message in itself.

·      Rosh HaShanah (Head of the Year, Birthday of the World)

·      The Time of Jacobs trouble, birth pangs of the Messiah

·      The Day of the Awakening Blast { Sounding of the Shofar}

·      Yom HaDin / Day of Judgment / The Opening of  the Books

·      Yom HaKeseh ( The Hidden Day) meaning “The Day of the Hiding”

·      Ha Kiddushin (Wedding Ceremony of the Messiah

·      Ha Melech (Coronation of the Messiah)

·      The resurrection of the dead

·      The last trump (shofar) when the Lord Jesus returns.

Genesis 1:14 Then God said, "Let there be lights across the sky to distinguish day from night, to act as signs for seasons, days, and years,

Seasons means:  mow’ed – an appointment, a fixed time or season, specifically, a festival

The Hebrew calendar is the annual calendar used in Judaism. It is based upon both the lunar cycle (which defines months) and the solar cycle (which defines years). This is in contrast to the Gregorian calendar, which is based solely upon the solar cycle.

Notice, Jesus Holy Days are there from the very creation of the earth.

Daniel 7:25 He'll speak out against the Most High and wear {oppress or persecute} down the Saints of the Highest One. He'll attempt to alter times and laws, and they'll be given into his control for a time, times, and half a time.

Times means:  zem-awn; seasons, time

·      Satan is attempting to alter the festivals the Saints are celebrating.

Yom HaDin / Day of Judgment / The Opening of  the Books

Do we talk with each other?  Are we written in this Book.

·      Feast of Trumpets is likened to a day of Judgment with mercy extended and the Feast of Atonement is a day of Mercy while atoning for our sins with Justice.

·      It is a day to remind people to repent of their sins and to remind God of His mercy.

However, he himself will be saved, but it will be like going through fire.

The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.  (12)  And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.  (8)  Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." Day and night they never stop saying: "'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,' who was, and is, and is to come."  (9)  Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever,  (10)  the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:  (11)  "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation.  (10)  You made them a kingdom and priests for our God, and they will reign on the earth."  (11)  Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels, the living creatures, and the elders surrounding the throne. They numbered 10,000's times 10,000 and thousands times thousands.  (12)  They sang with a loud voice, "Worthy is the lamb who was slaughtered to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise!"  (13)  I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever!"  (14)  Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!", and the elders bowed down and worshiped.

Jewish New Year

Rosh HaShanah marks the Jewish New Year and is a part of the season of repentance. Rosh in Hebrew means “chief or head” and shanah means “year.” Rosh HaShanah is the head of the year on the civil calendar, and is also known as the birthday of the world since the world was created on this day

Interesting side However, unlike the Feast of Tabernacles, there is no command that the Feast of Trumpets must be kept in a specific location—what we call a "Feast site." We are free to keep the Feast of Trumpets in our home church locations.

This feast symbolizes a vast turning point in world history. It pictures the  changeover between the age of man, of darkness, and of Satan to the age of God, the World Tomorrow, the Millennium, and the Kingdom of God.

This is why we are here to celebrate this day, the Feast of Trumpets.
