Psalms 8:1-9, How Majestic Is Your Name, Lord Jesus: June 26, 2021: www.seachord.org

Psalms 8:1-9                                                  June 26, 2021

In You Jesus, do I Take Refuge

·      Remember, we are applying Psalms to our own lives, not to David life. Psalms is a prophecy book that is quoted from more than any other book of the Old Testament.  We will see that as we go through Psalms.

·      Psalms was written for us today, for comfort, encouragement, and instruction.

·      Let us look at from a different perspective on how it applies to us.

·      Always put Jesus’ right in the middle of the Book of Psalms and us, right there.

Psalms 8:1-9

To the Director: On a stringed instrument. A David Psalm.

This is a Messiah Psalm, quoted in Matt 21:16, Heb 2:6-8, 1 Cor 15:27, Eph 1:22.  This Psalm covers Jesus and the Body, Church.

How Majestic Is Your Name, Lord Jesus

Psalms 8:1 LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! You set your glory above the heavens!

The Father and Jesus Name are the most Wonderful and Great in all the Earth and Praises and Glory Reaches Up and Above the Heavens

The name of the Father and Jesus are ways of describing who the Father and Jesus is.

Philippians 2:9-11 Now lifted up by God to heaven, a name above all others given, this matchless name possessing.  (10)  And so, when Jesus' name is called, the knees of everyone should fall wherever they're residing.  (11)  Then every tongue in one accord, will say that Jesus the Messiah is Lord, while God the Father praising.

Revelation 19:16 On his robe and his thigh he has a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

Thigh: custom name, part of the body near which the sword was suspended

Psalms 8:2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the enemy and the avenger.

Jesus has Found Strength from the Mouth of Little Children Praise And by Their Example, Jesus Enemies are Shame and Silence

Jesus quoted this verse, after cleansing the Temple.

Matthew 21:15-16 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were furious.  (16)  "Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him. "Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read, "'From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise'?"

Interesting, Jesus identified Himself as God and scribes and teachers as the enemy and avenger described in this Psalm.

Jesus’s mortal enemies are the Scribes and Pharisees and Satan, who is the enemy of mankind who is filled with envy, wrath, and malice, against Jesus and his Saints.

Psalms 8:3 When I look at the heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you established

When I look at the Night Sky and see the Moon and Stars Jesus Made with His Finger and Set it All in Place

When I look up into the sky at night and consider what a great God had made the vast, wonderful universe.  The splendors of creation and wonders of nature lead me to praise Jesus, the Creator of all things.

Jesus created all things

Hebrews 1:10 And, "In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  (2)  He was with God in the beginning.  (3)  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible attributes—his eternal power and divine nature—have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse.

Psalms 8:4 what is man that you take notice of him, or the son of man that you pay attention to him?

Why should the Father Remember His Saints and Pay Attention and Care for Jesus

·      How small I am, when looking at the vastness and glory of Jesus Creation at night, need to get down and give honor and praise to our Spiritual Elder Brother.

·      How merciful Jesus is to each of us.  Jesus has placed you and me over the works of His hands and to serve Him and the Father for all eternity.

The Apostle Paul quoted these Psalms many times.

Hebrews 2:6 Instead, someone has declared somewhere, "What is man that you should remember him, or the son of man that you should care for him?

Psalms 8:5 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.

Two different ways of understanding this verse, Paul used it both ways.

Psalms 8:5-1 Jesus has made Individuals a Little Lower than the Angels for a Little While and will Crowned Individuals with Glory and Honor

Psalms 8:5-2 The Father has made Jesus a Little Lower than the Angels for a Little While and has Crowned Jesus with Glory and Honor.

Jesus made us in His image, just a little lower than the angels {think about that for a minute}.  Jesus will crown us with glory and honor when He returns to the earth to set up His Kingdom.

Hebrews 2:7 You made him a little lower than the angels, yet you crowned him with glory and honor

Psalms 8:6 You gave him dominion over the work of your hands, you put all things under his feet

Jesus has Made Individuals in Charge of Everything You Made with Your Hands and Put Everything Under Their Authority.

We humans were created to rule and take care over Jesus creation.  Remember, all human beings are very valuable to Jesus because He created us in His own Glorious Image.

This is about mankind has almost all things under them.

Hebrews 2:8 and put everything under his feet." Now when God put everything under him, he left nothing outside his control. However, at the present time we do not yet see everything put under him.

Paul says this about Jesus has all things under Him right now.

1 Corinthians 15:27 For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.

Psalms 8:7 Sheep and cattle—all of them, wild creatures of the field,

Psalms 8:8 birds in the sky, fish in the sea—whatever moves through the currents {paths} of the oceans.

Jesus gave Individuals Authority Over the Sheep, Oxen, Wild Animals, Birds, Fish, and all the Life in the Sea.

What are sheep and cattle used for, Sacrifices to God in the Temple, food, clothing, employed in agriculture, etc., the gifts of Jesus Creation to mankind.  To used to make them subservient to mans use and be obedient to mans will.

Genesis 9:2 All the living creatures of the earth will be filled with fear and terror of you from now on, including all the birds of the sky, everything that crawls on the ground, and all the fish of the ocean.

They've been assigned to live under your dominion.

James 3:7 For all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and sea creatures can be or have been tamed by humans,

All mankind has the responsibility to wisely manage the creatures and resources of this earth in a way that gives God glory and is good for people.

Ephesians 1:21-23 He {Jesus} is far above every ruler, authority, power, dominion, and every name that can be named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.  (22)  God has put everything under the Messiah's feet and has made him the head of everything for the good of the church,  (23)  which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills everything in every way.

Maybe what Paul wrote will make a little more sense now.

We are also little lower than the angels.

·      Jesus was also made a little lower than the angels, we follow His example.

·      Jesus has already been given glory and honor and sits at the right hand of the Father.

·      Our will be when we are changed at Jesus coming and we become Kings and Priests of the Most High.

1 Corinthians 6:3 You know that we will rule angels, not to mention things in this life, don't you?

Revelation 1:6 and has made us a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, be glory and power forever and ever! Amen.

Hebrews 2:9 But we do see someone who was made a little lower than the angels. He is Jesus, who is crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might experience death for everyone.

Hebrews 2:10 It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through suffering as part of his plan to glorify many children,

The Saints have guarding angels.

Hebrews 2:11 because both the one who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified all have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers

Hebrews 2:12-13 when he says, "I will announce your name to my brothers. I will praise you within the congregation."  (13)  And again, "I will trust him." And again, "I am here with the children God has given me." {That is you and me}

Hebrews 2:14 Therefore, since the children have flesh and blood, he himself also shared the same things, so that by his death he might destroy the one who has the power of death (that is, the devil)

Hebrews 2:15-16 and might free those who were slaves all their lives because they were terrified by death.  (16)  For it is clear that he did not come to help angels. No, he came to help Abraham's descendants,

Hebrews 2:17 thereby becoming like his brothers in every way, so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God and could atone for the people's sins

Hebrews 2:18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Psalms 8:9 LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!

Father is the LORD, Jesus, our Lord, how Excellent and Wonderful is Your Names in All the Earth!

This is why we do not want to take the name of Jesus in vain.

·      The psalm ends with the same words with which it begins.

·      There are three wonderful and important truths about man found in this Psalm of Chapter 8;

·      When these truths are denied or neglected, man never is what God made him to be.

1.   God made people.

2.   God made people something glorious.

3.   God made people for a high and worthy destiny.

Psalms 8:5-6 You made him a little less than divine, but you crowned him with glory and honor.  (6)  You gave him dominion over the work of your hands, you put all things under his feet:

We see the Psalms 8 description of people and their place in the created order.

The Battle of Armageddon, Overview: June 19, 2021, seachord.org

The Battle of Armageddon, Overview                    June 19, 2021

There are 3 large military powers will meet and do battle against each other or against Jesus in the land of Israel.  Antichrist (Europe) Western Alliance, Russia Alliance, and China Alliance.  All these nations will be brought to a place called Armageddon.  The ancient city of Megiddo existed on the north side of the plain of Jezreel and was always a great military stronghold.

Gathering of the Armies of the Antichrist

The Euphrates River will be dried up, making it faster and easier for the armies of the “kings from the east” to assemble. Satan goal will be the final destruction of the Jews.

The two witnesses for 3 1/2 years, said there would be no rain, which would includes regions of Palestine, European, North African, and areas draining into the Euphrates.  The riverbed would now exposed and no longer stands as a barrier to any army that wishes to cross it.

Revelation 16:12-16 The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great Euphrates River. Its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east.  (13)  Then I saw three disgusting spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.  (14)  They are demonic spirits that perform signs. They go to the kings of the whole earth and gather them for the war of the great Day of God Almighty.  (15)  "See, I am coming like a thief. How blessed is the person who remains alert and keeps his clothes on! He won't have to go naked and let others see his shame."  (16)  The spirits gathered the kings to the place that is called Armageddon in Hebrew.

Babylon Destroyed

In this stage, the activity shifts from the gathering of the armies of the Antichrist to the destruction of Babylon.

While the Antichrist is with his armies in Armageddon, his capitol will be attacked and destroyed.  Babylon is the worldwide economic and religious center of activity during the tribulation. The warfare will be intense and the destruction will be massive.

Revelation 16:18-19 There were flashes of lightning, noises, peals of thunder, and a powerful earthquake. There has never been such a powerful earthquake since people have been on the earth.  (19)  The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. God remembered to give Babylon the Great the cup of wine filled with the fury of his wrath.

Zephaniah 3:8 "Just you wait!" declares the LORD. "The day will come when I stand up as a prosecutor, for I am determined to assemble the nations and to gather the kingdoms, in order to pour out my indignation upon them, all of my fierce anger. All the earth will be consumed by the fire of my jealousy.

Isaiah 24:21 "And it will come about at that time, the LORD will punish the armies of the exalted ones in the heavens, and the rulers of the earth on earth.

Revelation 18:10 Frightened by the torture that she experiences, they will stand far away and cry out, "How terrible, how terrible it is for that great city, the powerful city Babylon, because your judgment arrived in a single hour!"

Something to think about, Jesus tells us, His Saints, to be happy:

Revelation 18:20 Be happy about her, heaven, saints, apostles, and prophets, for God has condemned her for you!"

Revelation 18:21 Then a powerful angel picked up a stone that was like a large millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "The great city Babylon will be thrown down violently, and will never be found again.

Although the Antichrist will be the world ruler, very angry, he cannot return home, his overall control will not be absolute.   Now we see why Jerusalem falls and the covenant is broken.

Jerusalem Falls

Although the Antichrist’s capital will have been destroyed, his forces will not have been lost. The Antichrist will move south against Jerusalem. The Antichrist’s forces will sweep down to capture Jerusalem.

Zechariah 14:1-2 "Look! A day is coming for the LORD, when your plunder will be divided among you.  (2)  I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem, to lay siege against it. The city will be captured, the houses will be ransacked, the women raped, and half of the city will go into exile, but the remaining people will not be cut off from the city.

The Antichrist Moves South Against Remnant, after 3 years

The Antichrist breaks his treaty with Israel, pollutes the newly rebuilt Holy Temple, and issues a decree to kill the entire Jewish population. One third of the Jews will make it safely out of Jerusalem and flee into the desert.

Luke 21:20-22 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.  (21)  Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her.  (22)  For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

The campaign now shifts into the desert and mountains, to the location about 80 miles south of Jerusalem to the area of Bozrah/Petra. At the beginning of the second half of the tribulation, after the 2 witnesses.

The Beast army pursues the remnant in Edom, Jesus Destroys them

Look who is really in charged.

Revelation 12:12-13 So be glad, heavens, and those who live in

them! How terrible it is for the earth and the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, filled with rage, knowing that his time is short!"  (13)  When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who had given birth to the boy.

Revelation 12:14-16 However, the woman was given the two wings of a large eagle so that she could fly away from the serpent to her place in the wilderness, where she could be taken care of for a time, times, and half a time.  (15)  From its mouth the serpent spewed water like a river behind the woman in order to sweep her away with the flood.  (16)  But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed from its mouth.

Revelation 12:17-18 The dragon became angry with the woman and went away to do battle against the rest of her children, the ones who keep God's commandments and hold on to the testimony about Jesus.  (18)  Then the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore.

Galatians 3:29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Isaiah 34:2-3 For the LORD is angry against all the nations, and furious against all their armies. He has doomed them to destruction, and given them up to be slaughtered.  (3)  Their slain will be thrown out; and as for their dead bodies—their stench will ascend; the mountains will be soaked with their blood.

Isaiah 34:5-6 For my sword will be seen in the heavens. Look! It descends in judgment on Edom, on the people I have doomed to destruction.  (6)  The LORD has a sword bathed in blood; it's covered with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, and with fat from the kidneys of rams."

Isaiah 34:7 Wild oxen will fall together with them—young steers and mighty bulls. Their land will be drenched with blood, and their soil will be swollen with fat.

Isaiah 34:8-9  For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for Zion's cause.  (9)  Edom's streams will be turned into burning sulfur, and its dust into sulfur; its land will become pitch.

Final battle, Magog,

Isaiah 34:10 It will burn night and day, and will never be extinguished. Its smoke will rise from generation to generation, and it will lie desolate forever and ever. And no one will pass through it.

Israel Petition Jesus return,

Before Jesus can return, there must be a repentance of sin by Israel and a pleading for the Jesus to return. This will come as the armies of the Antichrist are poised to destroy the Jews in the wilderness.

Hosea 5:14 Therefore I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them to pieces, and then I will leave. I will take them away, and there will be no rescue.

Hosea 5:15  "I will leave and go back to my place until they {Ephraim & Judah} admit their offense and seek my face. When affliction comes to them, they will eagerly seek me."

Living in the rocks, holes and graves of the Petra/Bozrah area, the nation of Israel confesses, repents, and receives the Lord Jesus as their Savior with the words of Isaiah 53:1-9.

Jesus will return by rescuing the Israelites Remnant with wrath and to conquer.  Blood will be about 4 feet deep, for 183 miles, from Megiddo to Petra.  {Rev 14:14-20}

Revelation 14:19-20 So the angel swung his sickle in the earth, gathered the grapes from the earth, and threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath.  (20)  The wine press was trampled outside the city, and blood flowed from the wine press as high as a horse's bridle for about 183 miles.

Bozrah: {Heb}The capital of Edom; Petra {Greek} = sheepfold or fortress.

The Second Coming of Jesus

The prayers of the Jews are answered as Jesus Christ will return to earth to defeat the armies of the Antichrist at Petra/Bozrah and to begin the final portions of the campaign.

Matthew 24:30-31 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all 'the tribes of the land will mourn' when they see 'the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven' with power and great glory.  (31)  He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to another."

He will return to earth in the clouds, in the same manner in which He departed. At His second coming, Jesus, will enter battle with the Antichrist’s forces, China and Russia forces,

According to Jude, Jesus will return with His Saints.

Jude 1:14-15 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,  (15)  to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."

The Final Battle

The Antichrist, Beast will be slain by Jesus. Beginning at Bozrah and moving back to Jerusalem and the Kidron Valley (also known as the Valley of Jehoshaphat),

Jesus will engage and destroy the Antichrist’s and other forces.

Isaiah 63:1 "Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, in garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in such splendor, marching in his great might? It is I, speaking in vindication, mighty to save.

Isaiah 63:2-3 "Why is your clothing red, and your garments like those worn by the ones who tread in the winepress?  (3)  "I have trodden the winepress alone, and from my people no one was with me, I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their lifeblood spattered on my garments, and I stained all my clothing.

Isaiah 63:4-5 "For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year for my redeeming work had come.  (5)  I looked, but there was no helper, I was appalled that there was no one to give support; so my own arm brought me victory, and as for my wrath, it supported me.

Isaiah 63:6 I trampled people in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and I poured out their lifeblood on the ground."

Nahum 1:2-3 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies.  (3)  The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,

Zechariah 14:12-13 "This will be the plague with which the LORD inflicts all of the people who have attacked Jerusalem: he will cause their flesh to rot away, even while they're standing on their feet. He will cause their eyes to rot away in their sockets, and their tongues to rot away in their mouths.  (13)  At that time, they will be stricken with a terrible panic from the LORD. Everyone will attack each other.

Revelation 19:13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

Satan gathers the nations and armies against Jesus return, for the great war

Revelation 19:19  And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

Revelation 19:20-21 The beast was captured, along with the false prophet who had performed signs on its behalf. By these signs the false prophet had deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.  (21)  The rest were killed by the sword that belonged to the rider on the horse and that came from his mouth, and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.

To the Mount of Olives

Zechariah 14:3 "Then the LORD will go out to battle against those nations, waging war as in a day of battle.

Zechariah 14:4 His feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. Then the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a very large valley, with half of the mountain moving toward the north and half toward the south.

Zechariah 14:5 You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel {means Mount of Olives}; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!

With the destruction of the Antichrist and his forces complete, the campaign will be over and Jesus will go and stand on the Mount of Olives.

The campaign of Armageddon and the tribulation has ended.

Satan and demons are Bound and put away  {Rev 20:1-3}

Revelation 20:1-2 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key to the bottomless pit, with a large chain in his hand.  (2)  He captured the dragon, that ancient serpent, also known as the devil and Satan, and tied him up for a thousand years.

Revelation 20:3  He threw him into the bottomless pit, locked it, and sealed it over him to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were over. After that he must be set free for a little while.

Start of the Millennium, Jesus sets up His Kingdom on the earth;

Seventh Trumpet

Revelation 11:15  When the seventh angel blew his trumpet, there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The world's kingdom has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will rule forever and ever."  Father and Jesus

We will be there when this happens, as Kings and Priests.  Exciting for our future.

This is really, really going to happen to each of us.

Be made alive and Changed to Spirit.

Israel Covenant with Antichrist, Two Witnesses; seachord.org

Israel Covenant with Antichrist, Two Witnesses      June 12, 2021

How do we know the covenant the Antichrist signs will provide Israel with a time of peace?  These are some of places in Scripture that the Antichrist’s covenant is referenced that begins the Tribulation.  Remember Psalms 83.

The word "Antichrist" has 2 meanings. Its primary meaning is one who is opposed to Christ; but its secondary meaning is one who is instead of Christ.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but the person who denies that Jesus is the Messiah? The person who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist.

John used Antichrist 4 times in 1 and 2 John; but did not use the name in the Book of Revelation.

·      "Man of Sin" {Antichrist} signifies that he will be, sin itself, with satanic crafts and powers.

·      There will be no lengths of wickedness to which he will not go, no forms of evil to which he will be a stranger, no depths of corruption.

·      The "Lamb" is the Savior of sinners; the "Man of Sin" is the persecutor and slayer of the Saints.

Antichrist Signs peace Treaty with Israel {Judah}, for overall Peace,

1 Thessalonians 5:3 When people say, "There is peace and security," destruction will strike them as suddenly as labor pains come to a pregnant woman, and they will not be able to escape.

In Daniel, we have the prediction of the destruction of the Temple / Sanctuary and are told that it is destroyed by the people of the “prince that shall come.”

Daniel 9:26 "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

Sacrifices, Jews can start with an Altar:

Daniel then refers to this same prince that shall come, (who rises is out of the Revived Roman empire) and we read that he confirms the covenant:

Daniel 9:27 Then he shall confirm a covenant {make a binding, agreement} with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."

We know this is a peace treaty. A week is seven years and we see that in the middle of the seven years the treaty is broken.  Isaiah referred to a covenant with death and an agreement with hell and broken.

Isaiah 28:14-19 "Therefore hear the message from the LORD, you scoffers who rule this people that are in Jerusalem.  (15)  Because you said: 'We have entered into a covenant with death, and we have an agreement with Sheol, {grave} so when the overwhelming scourge makes its choice, it cannot reach us, since we have made lies our refuge and have concealed ourselves inside falsehood'  {broke covenant}

(16)  therefore this is what the LORD God says: "Look! I am laying a foundation stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation: Whoever believes firmly will not act hastily.  (17)  And I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge of lies, and floods will overflow your hiding place.

(18)  "Then your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be trampled by it.  (19)  As often as it sweeps through, it will carry you away, for it will sweep by morning after morning in the day; but understanding this message will bring sheer terror at night,

The Antichrist agrees with the treaty and has a deceitful heart.

Psalms 55:20-21 He has put forth his hands against those who were at peace with him; He has broken his covenant.  (21)  The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, But war was in his heart; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords.

Isaiah 33:7-8 Behold, their brave men cry in the streets, The ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.  (8)  The highways are desolate, the traveler has ceased, He has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, He has no regard for man.

·      This agreement or covenant gives peace for 7 years, broken after 3.5 years, allows to build a Temple / Sanctuary in peace on the temple mount.

·      We can assume or speculate that the Antichrist will embrace the Jewish people, and their desire for peace in their land and by offering them their land and his protection.

·      Currently, there is no Third Temple on the Temple Mount.

·      Only the Muslim Dome of the Rock stands in the original Temple’s location, so a Temple / Sanctuary must one day again stand.

·      Once in the Third Temple, the Antichrist sets up an abomination, ends the sacrifices and offerings after 3.5 years, and then he declares himself to be God and the only one the world’s inhabitants are allowed to worship.

·      The Antichrist guarantees peace for Israel and allows them to rebuild their Temple without any Islamic reprisal.

The Peace Betrayed

·      Daniel, along with Revelation 13, also reveals to the reader that in the middle of the Tribulation the Antichrist declares himself to be God.

·      His False Prophet sets up a “living” image of the Antichrist that must be worshiped.

At this point, the Jewish people totally reject their would-be savior. In response to their rejections, the Antichrist becomes obsessed with annihilating all the Jewish people during the second and last half of the Tribulation.  Satan.  Protected by 2 witnesses.

The Abomination of Desolation: Altars to idols were set up in Jerusalem and on December 16, 167 B.C. the Jews were ordered to offer unclean sacrifices and to eat swine’s flesh or be penalized by death.

Jesus said this will happen again.

Mark 13:14 "So when you see the 'Abomination of Desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let the reader understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.   {this is when individuals from Jerusalem flee to Petra}

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, for it will not come unless the rebellion takes place first and the man of sin, who is destined for destruction, is revealed.  (4)  He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god and object of worship. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the power of Satan. He will use every kind of power, including miraculous signs, lying wonders, (10)  and every type of evil to deceive those who are dying, those who refused to love the truth that would save them.

Antichrist Breaks Peace Treaty, Beast start ruling the Earth

Summary Dan 9:27: in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice.  If the sacrifice are to stop, then they must start earlier

Sacrifices, the Jews are doing, are stopped by the Antichrist (Beast) after

3.5 years of 7 years period, of the tribulation is a time of peace.  The Antichrist then starts their 3.5 years reign.

Revelation 13:5 The beast was allowed to speak arrogant and blasphemous things, and it was given authority for 42 months.

Fall of Jerusalem, half of city taken into slavery,

Zechariah 14:1-2  "Look! A day is coming for the LORD, when your plunder will be divided among you.  (2)  I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem, to lay siege against it. The city will be captured, the houses will be ransacked, the women raped, and half of the city will go into exile, but the remaining people will not be cut off from the city.

2 Witness killed, made alive for 3 and half days before ascending to

heaven

Remember, the 2 Witnesses will control everything for 3.5 years, before their death and resurrection back to life.

Also, the Antichrist is in Jerusalem with his army for the full 3.5 years and at the final battle against Jesus, will be destroyed.

Revelation 11:3-4 I will give my two witnesses who wear sackcloth the authority to prophesy for 1,260 days."  (4)  These witnesses are the two olive trees and the two lamp stands standing in the presence of the Lord of the earth.

6 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'

Revelation 11:5-6 And if anyone should want to hurt them, fire comes out of their mouths and burns up their enemies. If anyone wants to hurt them, he must be killed in this manner.  (6)  These witnesses have authority to close the heavens in order to keep rain from falling while they are prophesying. They also have authority to turn bodies of water into blood and to strike the earth with any plague, as often as they desire.

Revelation 11:7-8 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the bottomless pit will wage war against them, conquer them, and kill them.  (8)  Their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.   {Jerusalem}

The Antichrist now in power and notice the beast was able to overcome and kill them.

Revelation 11:9-10 For three and a half days some members of the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will look at their dead bodies and will not allow them to be placed in a tomb.  (10)  Those living on earth will gloat over them, celebrate, and send gifts to each other, because these two prophets had tormented those living on earth.

{Only celebration on the earth by Antichrist in the Book of Revelation!}

Revelation 11:11-12 But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet. Those who watched them were terrified.  (12)  Then the witnesses heard a loud voice from heaven calling to them, "Come up here!" So they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.   {A CNN exclusive?}

Revelation 11:13 At that moment a powerful earthquake struck. One-tenth of the city collapsed, 7,000 people were killed by the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Daniel 7:25 He'll {Antichrist - Satan} speak out against the Most High and wear down the Saints of the Highest One. He'll attempt to alter times and laws, and they'll be given into his control for a time, times, and half a time.

{times - Sabbath, to Sunday, Feast Days to Easter / Christmas}.

·      The two witnesses testifying in Jerusalem have wrecked havoc on the world by the words of their mouths.

·      By banding together, the nations suppose that they can battle against the LORD and his people.

·      And so they gather together at the place that is "in Hebrew called Armageddon."

·      The description of the two witnesses as olive trees and lampstands has an Old Testament background (Zechariah 4:2-14).

·      The two witnesses in this passage were Joshua the high priest and Zerubbabel the governor.

·      Their connection to the lampstands was that they were empowered by the Holy Spirit, symbolized by the olive oil.)

Zechariah 4:14 He said, "These are the two anointed ones, who continually stand beside the Lord of the whole earth."

Two witness Powers:  Possible, brought back to life?

  • Call down fire from heaven:     Like Elijah – 1 King 18:37
  • Shut heaven, no rain:             Like Elijah – 1 King 17:1
  • Turn water into blood:             Like Moses – Ex 7:19, 20
  • Smite earth with Plagues:       Like Moses – Ex 8-12

Transfiguration:  Matthew 17:3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.

Staff Meeting? (Mt 17) connected with Second Coming (Lk 9:31)

Luke 9:30-31 Suddenly, two men were talking with him {Jesus}. They were Moses and Elijah.  (31)  They had a glorified appearance; and were discussing Jesus' departure that he would shortly bring about in Jerusalem.

Moses and Elijah had their previous ministries interrupted.

Numbers 20:12 But the LORD rebuked Moses and Aaron, telling Moses: "Because you both didn't believe me, because you didn't consecrate me as holy in the presence of the Israelis, you won't be the ones to bring this congregation into the land that I'm about to give them.

2 Kings 2:11 As they continued on, talking as they went, suddenly chariots blazing with fire and pulled by fiery horses appeared, separated the two of them, and Elijah ascended in a windstorm to heaven!

Is this a hint for us during Satan wrath?

Isaiah 26:20-21 Come, my people, enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by.  (21)  For see, the LORD is coming from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their sins; the earth will reveal the blood that has been shed on it and will no longer conceal its slain."

Jesus collected His Saints for the Bema Seat Reward at His 2nd Coming

Matthew 24:31 He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to another."

Jesus takes His Saints, His Bride, to the Wedding and Wedding Supper at Jesus 2nd Coming

Revelation 19:6 Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a large crowd, like the sound of raging waters, and like the sound of powerful thunderclaps, saying, "Hallelujah! The Lord our God, the Almighty, is reigning.

Revelation 19:7-8 Let us rejoice, be glad, and give him glory, because the marriage of the lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready.  (8)  She has been given the privilege of wearing fine linen, dazzling and pure." (The fine linen represents the righteous deeds of the saints.)

Revelation 19:9-10 Then the angel told me, "Write this: 'How blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the lamb!'" He also told me, "These are the true words of God."  (10)  I bowed down at his feet to worship him, but he told me, "Don't do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who rely on what Jesus is saying. Worship God, because what Jesus is saying is the spirit of prophecy!"

The ancient city of Megiddo existed on the north side of the plain of Jezreel and was always a great military stronghold.

This is the same valley that Joel prophesied that God would gather the nations for judgment in the last days.  Joel 3:2,12

Joel 3:2 I will gather all nations, bringing them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. I will set out my case against them there, on behalf of my people, my heritage Israel, whom they scattered among the nations, apportioning my land among themselves.

Joel 3:12 "Let the nations be awakened and come to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; because I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

One by one the nations will enter the battle.

Antichrist and Europe army will be at Jerusalem before Russia {Magog} comes into play, then China and India, Pakistan, and North Korea have all developed nuclear weapons.  Will cause the death of fully one-third of mankind.

The Antichrist will appear to the world as some kind of savior, but in reality he will be an evil False-Christ, Psalms 83 battle.  It is Satan that really wants to destroy the Jews in the place of safety.  Held back until 2 witness die.

Armageddon;  because of the sheer magnitude of the troops and equipment that will have to be mobilized. It will take time.

Next time, We will cover Armageddon.
