FYI: the KJV you used is not quite translated correctly. The Greek word “rest” in verse 9 is “sabbatismos” and is not the same Greek word “rest” which is “katapausis” in verse 10. The NIV translate the word “a Sabbath-rest”. The ISV version says a Sabbath rest for the people of God. The Blue letter Bible says “or, keeping of a Sabbath.” When I look at other translations, the translations on a whole use “So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for (or to) the people of God.” If you look at these verses with the understanding that it should read Sabbath rest, then the verses will mean something a little different. The way I understand it, if we enter into the Sabbath rest (Jesus created this from the beginning – the Sabbath), then we according vs 10, that we enters God’s (Jesus) rest (the Sabbath) as Jesus did from His own actions of creation. So, if the people of God do take a day of rest from their weekly work, which day should that be? Remember, it was the eastern church that follow the teachings of John, Apostles, Polycarp and others about the Passover, Sabbath and feast days until the western church murder them because of it. I can understand why I like the ISV version better than than KJV because of the wording and translation. Blessing
