Psalm 80 and my reflections

Psalm 80 and my reflections

When I was going through Psalm 80, my mind stopped at verse two, covering Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh and saw something I did not realize.  These were the sons of Rachel, wife of Jacob.  Of course, Joseph was the father of Ephraim and Manasseh.  I
gave a presentation on who received the Blessing and Inheritance from Jacob and why the Northern Kingdom was called House of Israel.  For some reason I did not realize that they followed the Ark of the Covenant when the Nation of Israel was marching across the desert and on the west side Ark of the Covenant when Israel was stopped for camp.  I found this interesting.

Psalms 80:2 NKJV  Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, Stir up Your strength, And come and save us!

Gen 46:19-20 NKJV  The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife, were Joseph and Benjamin.  (20)  And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him.

Num 2:17-22 NKJV  "And the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps; as they camp, so they shall move out, everyone in his place, by their standards.  (18)  "On the west side shall be the standard of the forces with Ephraim according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud."  (19)  And his army was numbered at forty thousand five hundred.  (20)  "Next to him comes the tribe of Manasseh, and the leader of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur."  (21)  And his army was numbered at thirty-two thousand two hundred.  (22)  "Then comes the tribe of Benjamin, and the leader of the children of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni."
